Why do Trump supporters adore a loser? [VIDEO]
Donald Trump spends most of his time on his Florida and New Jersey golf courses. This enables him to protect himself from criticism and to be constantly surrounded by yes men and women.
This weekend, Trump left his comfort zone for the first time. Even so, he picked a city in Ohio where he would be treated like a deity. Summing up last night’s speech, GOP representative Adam Kinzinger tore into the former president.
The Illinois congressman told CNN’s Pamela Brown: “There are a lot of people I’ve talked to who are mad at me for just telling the truth, which used to be a pretty straightforward low bar. That really really believes Donald Trump was re-elected president. What you saw yesterday was a reworking of all of his old topics of conversation. It was a rally by a loser president. He is the first president in decades to lose re-election. And I don’t know why these people go there and just briefly worship a loser. They did.”
“The interesting thing is that he didn’t talk much about the candidate going up against Anthony Gonzalez, who is a fantastic person who Anthony is. The guy who stood up against him once made Trump sound like he’d negotiated world peace in North Korea. The guy worked ahead of time, which is really an entry-level position, not to put it down but not to negotiate with world leaders. And then he moved on to old, recycled topics of conversation. The problem is, people believe that. You really do. And there are enough people who are shockingly believing that he will be president again in August. “
