We now know that in the midst of that attack, the Trump campaign secretly leaked its own data to Russian intelligence, which in turn probably contributed to what the Russians did. As the New York Times put it in its new story published this evening: “The revelation, published in a Treasury Department document announcing new sanctions against Russia, stated for the first time that it a direct pipeline from the Trump campaign against Russian spies at a time when the Kremlin was making covert efforts to sabotage the 2016 presidential election, the poll data would have allowed Russia to better understand the Trump campaign strategy, including where the campaign concentrated resources at a time when the Russian government was making its own efforts to undermine Trump’s opponents. “
What is the definition of collusion again? Not just passively benefiting from someone else’s crime, but actively helping them commit it? Do we call this an agreement? Tell me more about how the whole thing about Russia is a joke.
Trump has denied collusion for years because although there is no crime like collusion, it is a crime for any individual to accept the help of a foreign government in an election campaign. Trump, Jared Kushner and the entire team involved in the collusion with Russia committed a crime. You got away with it during the Trump administration because Trump’s DOJ pressured and restricted the Mueller investigation and there was no link between smoking guns and the Trump / Russia collusion, but now there is.
Rachel Maddow showed how the crime worked, and it’s evidence that Trump and his campaign should be prosecuted.
