Learn Celine Dion’s homage to René Angélil 5 years after his loss of life

The five-time Grammy winner pays tribute to the love of her life, her late husband René Angelil, five years after his death. He died in 2016 at the age of 73 after a long battle with throat cancer.

On January 14th, Celine celebrated the anniversary of his death with a photo of two lovers holding hands.

She wrote: “There is not a day when we do not think of you. We turn to you now more than ever to guide us, to protect us and to continue to watch over us.”

The 52-year-old singer hopes that René will “direct your love to the whole world, to all those right now who are in incredibly difficult times” and possibly point to the global pandemic.

She finished the note with “You are forever in our hearts and in our lives. We love you” and signed it of herself and her son René-Charles, 19, and twins Nelson and Eddy10.
