COVID Truther Ted Nugent Declares He is Very Sick of Coronavirus
Ted Nugent, who claimed for a year that COVID was a fake, announced that he has been sick for ten days and has coronavirus.
Nugent said on Facebook Live, “Everyone was telling me not to announce this. I’ve had flu symptoms for the past ten days. I thought I was going to die. Just a cluster fuck. “I tested positive today. I got the chinese shit. I have a blocked head, body aches and pains. My god what a pain in the ass. I’ve literally barely been able to crawl out of bed for the past few days … So today I officially tested positive for COVID-19. “
The story contains a deeper element than COVID deniers receive COVID. Chances are, Ted Nugent not only made himself sick with his rejection, but likely made sick others who came in contact with him as well.
The anti-vaccination argument of some is that they believe they have a right not to be vaccinated. Since we live in a society where one person chooses to become infected and spread a virus, it affects the rights of others who also have the right not to be infected with COVID.
Ted Nugent’s right to receive COVIO is not superior to others’ right to live in a society where people take responsibility for themselves during a pandemic. Hence the term equal rights for all.
Republicans and Conservatives have developed an individualistic view of freedom that is incompatible with the social contract. Republicans used to be concerned about everyone’s individual freedoms, but that has grown into a narrow concern only about the freedoms of the self.
The government shouldn’t mandate vaccinations, but the bigger problem is that the tears in the collective fabric of American society that Republicans have caused by their self-only focus have been taken advantage of by the pandemic and could have deadly long-term consequences for the population Nation health.
