NextEra Energy slides on plan to sell $2B of equity units (NYSE:NEE)

NextEra Energy (NYSE:NEE) -3.2% post-market Monday after saying it plans to sell nearly $2B of equity units.
Each equity unit will consist of a contract to purchase NextEra Energy (NEE) common stock by no later than June 2027 and a 5% undivided ownership interest in a NextEra Energy Capital Holdings debenture due June 1, 2029, to be issued in the principal amount of $1,000.
NextEra (NEE) said the sale proceeds will be added to the general funds of NextEra Energy Capital Holdings, which plans to use its general funds to fund energy and power projects and for other general corporate purposes, including the repayment of part of its outstanding commercial paper obligations.
